Aplington Sale Barn is rebuilt, re-opens after devastating fire

After the Central Iowa Exchange Sale Barn in Aplington was destroyed by fire in August of 2017, owner Letrisha Wise wasted no time in starting the rebuilding efforts. By November of that year, construction crews were already hard at work building up the new barn, bigger and better than before, and by April of this year Wise was celebrating the grand opening of her new Sale Barn.

David and Joyce Dickes named as Parkersburg’s Citizens of the Year

David and Joyce Dickes were chosen as Parkersburg’s 2018 Citizens of the Year and received a plaque recognizing their service to the community from the Chamber of Commerce at a banquet held in February. “This couple has been caring, committed, dedicated, dependable, selfless and loyal to this community,” said Chamber of Commerce President Tasha Finch. “They have always had a kind heart and a great laugh. It doesn’t matter what they were asked or what time of day it was, they were always ready to step in and help.”

New businesses make their mark in Parkersburg and New Hartford

Throughout the span of the 2018, several new businesses around the area have opened their doors to the public.
