Aplington Days Grand Parade

Another beautiful evening greeted participants and watchers of the Grand Parade Tuesday evening, June 5. Grand Marshall and Citizens of the Year Dr. Tom and Lenee Pollock led the parade.

The Pollocks have been Aplington residents for 33 years, serving the community through Highview Animal Hospital. They said they most enjoy the friendliness of the community.

“It’s a huge honor for us,” Lenee Pollock said. “We have loved raising our family here, and it just was a natural fit for us coming from a small town ourselves. We feel our clients are our friends, and we are so appreciative of their loyalty. … Everyone is kind, and we like the small-town atmosphere.

The Citizens of the Year were followed by Miss Aplington, Sydney Hanken.

Hanken is the daughter of Dina and TJ Hanken and a recent graduate of A-P high school.
