Aplington native pens first book

Any mom will readily tell you that motherhood is a journey that’s chock full of surprises. Sometimes you laugh, sometimes you cry, and sometimes you just want to sit down with another mom, and talk everything over. That’s what led one local mother - Kasey Sents of Aplington - to put her pen to the paper and share her experiences with the world in her first book, “Mom Moments With God: 30 Day Devotional For Moms.”

“In my book, I’m telling a lot of relatable stories that hopefully a lot of moms can connect with,” Sents said. “I hope people can read it and feel connected; maybe they’ve been through something I write about, maybe some of the stories will give them a laugh, and maybe they’ll just get it. A lot of things happen as a mom. There’s joy, laughter, disappointment, and everything else, but I hope this book can show them it’s normal and it’s all part of the journey; it’s all about handling these things with grace.”

In her book, Sents shares 30 days of devotion with her readers. Each chapter, or day, has a different focus such as “breathe,” or “listen,” and a personal story from Sents’ life to correspond. Afterwards there’s a verse, and questions for the reader to reflect on.
