Aplington Sale Barn to celebrate grand opening of new facility

Central Iowa Exchange owner Letrisha Wise says the feeling of excitement when she looks at the new sale barn is finally starting to set in as she prepares for the barn’s grand re-opening this weekend.

“I’m very excited now,” Wise said. “It’s taken me a little while to get excited about the new barn since I just kept feeling the loss over the old one, but now that it’s up and done, it’s much more real for me. I’ve really fallen in love with the new barn.”

After the old barn tragically burned down in August, Wise started the rebuilding process almost immediately, adding upgrades to make the new facility better than ever.

“It’s updated in many ways,” Wise said. “Everything’s more efficient and accessible; there’s not steps for people, the bathrooms are improved. There’s a lot of great things.”

Among those improvements is a 75 by 100 foot indoor riding arena – the only one in the state, Wise said.
