Butler County Extension office marks 100 years

It’s been 100 years since Iowa State University Extension and Outreach opened its Butler County office in Allison, providing area residents access to educational programs and university research.

“We connect the needs of Iowans with research and resources,” said County Program Coordinator Holly Merritt.

The extension office will hold a centennial celebration in conjunction with 4-H Communications Day at the Butler County Fair on Saturday, June 23. The state extension office will present a certificate of recognition, and there will be a drawing for four themed baskets representing the four program areas: 4-H and youth, agriculture and environment , business and community, and families and healthy living.
