Car show at The Mill attracts area car lovers

Over 100 classic car enthusiasts from all over the area filled the parking lot at The Mill Convenience Store in rural Grundy County last Tuesday, as spectators perused through row after row of shining chrome to check out the one-of-a-kind rides.

The Mill hosts a Cruise Night in their parking lot on the second Tuesday of each month from April through September, where anyone can come display their car, and swap stories with other car enthusiasts from Grundy, Butler, Black Hawk County and beyond.

Jerry Steward of Cedar Falls was one of the many area locals who displayed his car - a 1953 Chevy - at the Cruise Night on Tuesday.

“My first car was a 1953 Chevy, and when this came for sale a few years back, I had to have it,” he said.
