D-NH school board approves $17.5 million facilities plan

During their Monday night meeting, the D-NH School Board voted to accept a $17.5 million facilities plan that would make major improvements and renovations at both the Dike and New Hartford campuses.

Now, the board will move forward with the next steps on the project, which includes putting together a petition and holding public meetings. Eventually, the project will require approval from the voters, which could occur during a bond vote in March of 2020 at the earliest.

The facilities improvement plan was created by a 28-member facilities committee made up of local community members, parents, school staff and administration, retirees, city employees and more.

The plan was first presented to the public earlier this month, when the committee hosted two public meetings in Dike and New Hartford.
