Economic development and new public works assistant

Aplington recently hired a new public works assistant, Jordan Simon. Former public works assistant Jeff Ridder was promoted to Public Works Director upon Blake Hovenga’s resignation. Mayor Jason Mehmen and the council see Simon as a great addition to the city team.

“He’s been doing good,” said city clerk Deb Prier.

Mary Meyer of the Peppercorn Pantry asked if the council would be interested in advertising the Aplington main street in the Central and Eastern Iowa Tourism guides.
