Falcon football shuts out Cadets, remains undefeated

IOWA FALLS – The Aplington-Parkersburg football team is straying away from the building blocks of A-P head coach's Alex Pollock's defensive philosophy.

The Falcons are all in, and the change in strategy continued to pay out with a 35-0 blanking of Iowa Falls-Alden in Iowa Falls last Friday night.

The win moved A-P to 3-0 on the season. The Falcons have now outscored their first three opponents by a combined score of 122-23.

No magic formula for success here, though. If anything, Pollock, who is also the team's defensive coordinator, said he has kept the defense simple.

"We haven't blitzed much at all this year, which is against my coaching DNA," Pollock added. "Our kids have a lot of confidence in our scheme and our expectations, and we are playing much faster than we actually are."
