Gearing up for the competition: A-P Robotics Club looks forward to Qualifier Competition

While other students are home relaxing after school, members of the Aplington-Parkersburg High School Robotics Club are hard at work after school’s done, building, programming and testing their very own robot in preparation for a statewide robotics competition.

STEM - science, technology, engineering and math - is the name of the game for the eight students involved in the club, who not only build and program the robot, but also test it and make fixes, promote the club to the community and work to find grants and other funding to support the club.

The students involved have put countless hours and late nights into perfecting their robot, and their hard work will be put to the test this Saturday at the Qualifying Competition in Fort Dodge, where the team will have a chance to move on to the Super Regional Competition, and then to the State Competition later this year.
