Good numbers for A-P/GC wrestling

PARKERSBURG – Aplington-Parkersburg/Grundy Center wrestling expects to have about 35 wrestlers in the room this winter, including two wrestlers with district wrestling experience.

Brier Uhlenhopp is a two-time district qualifier coming off a 19-15 record in his junior season. He finished fourth at the Independence district tournament.

Uhlenhopp placed third at 145 pounds at the NICL tournament last season, advancing as a sectional runner-up before falling to New Hampton/Turkey Valley's Max Babcock and Independence's Brady Webb at the district tournament.

Nathan Klahsen is also back for his senior season after qualifying for districts two years ago. Klahsen was seventh at 138 pounds at the NICL meet as a junior and finished third at the sectional meet.
