HOMETOWN ENTREPRENEURS: Mahler’s Ink, Etc.

Many in Parkersburg know Thom Mahler as A-P’s 7-12 band teacher, but not everyone knows that Mahler also offers fine quality woodworking on the side through his home business, Mahler’s Ink, Etc.

He often attends craft shows, and recently began offering his pens at Sister Style on Main Street in Parkersburg. Mahler has a well-stocked shop to fill just about any custom woodworking order, regardless of how unique. Regular products include pens, pencils, letter openers and bottle toppers, but a quick look at his Facebook page @MahlerInkEtc reveals everything from rolling pins, seam rippers and quilt ladders to vases, bowls, candle holders and pocket styluses. Recent custom orders have included a clarinet stand, beer flight paddles and bases for weaving pine needle baskets.
