Iowa State Bank celebrates 100 years

With an estimated 1,500 visiting the Butler County Fairgrounds on Thursday, July 19 for Iowa State Bank’s 100th Anniversary Celebration in the Arena, it was reminiscent of fair week.

President and CEO Fred Maifeld was at the celebration to welcome guests with his wife Wava, family and employees. “I feel without the people we wouldn’t be here … that’s really what it amounts to,” said Maifeld.

Guests enjoyed music from three live bands: Sugar Daddy’s Jazz Band, The Tank Anthony Band and The Hepperly Band.

They also enjoyed a beautifully catered dinner buffet, received promotional gifts and learned more about ISB history.

Iowa State Bank began as Kesley State Bank on December 5, 1918, owned by brothers Herman and James Reints. Kesley State Bank was one of the few banks in the area to remain open during the Great Depression.
