Kothe Library goes digital: Library rolls out new online system for patrons

Libraries are a valuable public resource, and continual changes and advancements in technology means they’re ever-evolving, and the Kothe Memorial Library in Parkersburg is no exception. With the start of the new year, the library rolled out a brand new online cataloguing system called Apollo. The system will give patrons the ability to use many library services - such as browsing titles, reserving books, requesting titles and checking their balance - online from the comfort of their own home.

Library Director Gloria Schiller says she’s excited about the launch of the new system, and she hopes patrons will appreciate the benefits it offers.

“A lot of area libraries around us use [Apollo],” she said. “It’s a great program that’s made by librarians for public libraries, and it makes things not only so much easier for us - but for patrons, too.”
