Making musical history at A-P

Music is a family tradition for Aplington- Parkersburg senior Grant Truax.

Mother Amy and father Kevin were both all-state instrumentalists in trombone and trumpet, respectively, and sister Kiersten was a two-time all-state trombonist and is currently studying Musical Education at the University of Iowa.

“Music has always been a part of my life,” Grant said. “Growing up, it was always there.”

And though the rest of his family found their talents as instrumentalists, Grant discovered his passion for singing early on.
