Meet the Intern: Michael Pruisner

As my time at the high school is coming to an end, and college becomes closer, there are a lot of things I still have to figure out. For example, I have to decide which college I am going to attend. I am still unsure of where I want to go but I have selected my degree: I want to go into Journalism.

Getting an early start in journalism was a factor of why I started an internship here at the Eclipse. I figured it would be better to get job experience now rather than later. With all that being said I am very excited for this internship and everything that it offers me. What excites me most about this opportunity is improving my writing skills, and getting the overall journalist experience.

I am the son of Todd and Liz Pruisner. I have two siblings. Jace Pruisner, who is 13 and Luke Pruisner, who is 21, which makes me the middle child. I am also a nephew to Doyle Voss.

I am very involved at school. I am a member of NHS (National Honor Society) and I've been a runner for the cross country team for three years.I am also heavily involved in the fine arts. I participate in the spring play, the musical, both large group and individual speech, and choir. I have dedicated myself to these activities since my freshman year of high school.

Staying busy with a variety of events is really enjoyable because not only am I having fun and making memories but I am also learning valuable life skills such as time management and communication skills. These are probably the two most important but there are a lot of other useful skills you can learn from being involved in a variety of activities.

Needless to say, I am very excited for this internship and hopefully, it gives me the journalism experience that I need and want to have. If you see me around town, feel free to ask about my time at the Eclipse and I’d be happy to talk about it. See you around!
