PARKERSBURG – Klay Hoppenworth took a chance when he launched the A-P Archery Club last year, and it’s already proved to be an incredibly rewarding experience for everyone involved.

“The coolest thing about archery to me is that everyone plays, regardless of your ability,” he said. “You’re going to have an opportunity to get out there and participate.”

The club, which is now 82 members strong between grades six and 12, recently hosted its first home event at the high school in Parkersburg and hosted again last Saturday. Athletes have waded into archery with various levels of skill, but they’re loving the experience thus far and telling their friends. The size of the club has more than doubled since last year.
