WAVERLY – Aplington-Parkersburg's Cameron Luhring defeated teammate Aaron Price for a district title, and a third-place doubles team at Friday's 1A district meet pushed Aplington-Parkersburg to the top of the team standings, qualifying the Falcons for the team substate tournament.

A-P will play their substate tennis matches on Saturday, May 18 following an 8 a.m. coaches meeting. The Falcons will face Dubuque Wahlert, with the winner playing in the quarterfinal round of the State Team Tennis meet one hour after the completion of the substate matches in Waterloo.

As district champion and runner-up, Luhring and Price will both head to the individual state tournament, scheduled for May 24-25 at Byrnes Park Tennis Complex in Waterloo.
