A-P dance coach wins ISDTA Character Counts Coaching Award

For nearly 20 years, Erin Good has been coaching the Aplington-Parkersburg Dance Team. What started out as a small team with only three performances a year has now grown into a highly successful program with year-round performances and high-ranking scores at the State Championships, thanks to the passion, dedication and commitment Good has to the A-P Dance Team, and the sport itself.

But still, Good says she was shocked and humbled during this year’s State Dance Championship, when she was called up to the stage to receive the 2017 Coach of the Year Character Counts Award.

“I was shocked, I didn’t know a thing about it and when they called my name, I was just stunned,” Good said. “There are so many deserving coaches out there, so this is a huge honor, and I’m so humbled and thankful to have received it.”

Out of over 270 teams, Good was the one coach singled out for this year’s award, and the students her team agree that there is no better person for the award.
