A-P girls cross country top 10 in big-school field (PHOTOS)

CEDAR FALLS – Aplington-Parkersburg and Dike-New Hartford were part of a huge field of cross country runners at the Rich Engel Classic at Birdsall Park in Cedar Falls last Thursday, Sept. 19.

  

The A-P girls had the best finish, running their way to 10th out of 21 teams scoring in Thursday's girls race. The Falcons finished with a 298 team score. Dubuque Senior won with 42 points.

  

Sophia Jungling clocked in at 19:48 as the top finisher for the A-P girls in fifth place. Megan Johnson was 36th in 21:28 and Lia Hovenga claimed 43rd in 21:33. The final two scoring runners for A-P were Lily Hovenga in 102nd in 23:37 and Sommer Stotler in 112th in 24:16.
