A-P girls' opening week spoiled by Hudson upset

The Aplington-Parkersburg girls basketball team started the season at a good pace with wins at BCLUW, 58-44, last Monday, Dec. 2 and at home against Charles City, 56-25, last Thursday.

A road trip to Hudson was a stumbling block for the fifth-ranked (2A) Falcons, though, with the Pirates winning 58-54 in an upset.

A-P (2-1, 0-1 NICL East) hosted Union for the NICL East home opener on Tuesday and will head to Jesup on Friday.
