A-P junior participates in Eclipse job shadow

Aplington- Parkersburg junior Nick Grill got an opportunity to cut his teeth in the rough and tumble world of small town journalism during a job shadow at the offices of the Eclipse News-Review last Thursday afternoon.

Grill, an avid gamer who is active in band and large group speech, has aspirations to write for a living some day—perhaps in a northwestern metropolis like Portland or Seattle—but for now, he’s focused on learning the basics of the trade and gathering some clips before he heads off to college in the fall of 2019.

“I’ve been writing ever since it was assigned to me in school, (and) I liked it. I just write,” he said.
