Parker Place residents participate in Fourth of July “walker parade”

Decked out in red, white and blue, residents of Parker Place Retirement Community celebrated the Fourth of July holiday with their very own walker parade.

Last Wednesday morning, residents were joined by local youngsters, who helped them decorate walkers and wheelchairs in patriotic colors, complete with stickers, balloons and banners.

“This is the first time we’ve done this, and the residents loved it,” said Mikayla Fisher, the Parker Place Activities Coordinator. “The residents always love seeing kids, so we like to get the local kids involved in activities when we can.”
