Aplington-Parkersburg boys win shootout at Hudson

HUDSON — Aplington-Parkersburg boys basketball overcame an incredible shooting performance by Hudson for a 79-71 win at Hudson High on Friday.

Gavin Thomas poured in 29 points with 11 rebounds to lead the Falcons in both categories. Martez Wiggley kicked in 24 points with nine rebounds and Will Hodges added 13 points.

The Falcons were able to limit their turnovers to avoid being too burned by a Pirate team shooting 11-of-25 (44 percent) from 3-point range.

Camden Davis scored 21 points with 11 rebounds to lead the Pirates; Kiean Crile drained five 3-pointers and Oliver Thompson sank four treys for the Pirates.
