Bennett, Wolverines ramble past J-Hawks
JESUP – Cade Bennett scored four touchdowns as the Dike-New Hartford football team won a 50-16 rout of Jesup in Class 1A District 6 action in Jesup last Friday.
Bennett finished with 16 carries and 147 yards for the Wolverines (7-0, 3-0 district) and Drew Sonnenberg added a pair of passing touchdowns to Parker Kiewiet and Nathan Moore as D-NH scored all 50 points in the first three quarters of Friday's contest.
Drew Larson contributed a third-quarter rushing touchdown and Bennett also scored a safety for D-NH's defense in the second quarter, tackling a Jesup ball carrier in the endzone.
The Wolverines play at South Hardin (5-2, 2-1) on Friday, needing a win to stay tied with Iowa City Regina for the District 6 lead.
