COVID-19 activity is holding steady in Butler County as the county's Department of Public Health prepares for a new round of vaccinations for school employees and the expected arrival of Johnson & Johnson's new vaccine.

Vaccinations did see some delay last month in the wake of winter storms, but Public Health is getting caught up, getting out nearly all of their allotted doses every week.

As of Monday, March 1, approximately 4,120 doses of vaccine have been administered to Butler County residents, with 879 residents completing their vaccine series.

A total of 1,581 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the county, increasing the county total in the last week by nine, marking the third week in a row of 9-10 new cases.

In Butler County, 6,645 individuals have been tested at some point during the pandemic, with a total of 25,020 tests performed on Butler County residents overall. In the last 14 days, 1.6% of total tests have been positive for the virus. The state no longer tracks the number of individuals testing positive or recovered cases, making it difficult to determine how many active cases there are.

No new deaths have been reported from the state, keeping the county total at 31.
