Butler County Public Health is adjusting to the change in demand for COVID-19 vaccine. This week the county will be holding a prime clinic for the Moderna vaccine from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7.

Due to reduced demand for the vaccine, the county is now scheduling their clinics for every other week.

For those interested in the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the county is nearly finished using their allotment to vaccinate the county's manufacturing workers. Once that is done, they will make plans for having a separate clinic for the J&J vaccine.

As of Monday, May 3, approximately 11,500 doses of vaccine have been administered to Butler County residents, with 5,068 completing their two-dose vaccine series and an additional 298 receiving a one-dose vaccine.

A total of 1,635 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the county, increasing the county total in the last week by seven cases.

In Butler County, 7,224 individuals have been tested at some point during the pandemic, with a total of 29,665 tests performed on Butler County residents overall. In the last 14 days, 1.9% of total tests have been positive for the virus.

No additional COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in the county, keeping the county total at 34.
