Butler Extension offering private pesticide instruction

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Butler County office will be offering several sessions to attend the Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Course, led by Extension Field Agronomist, Terry Basol. All courses will be offered at the Butler County Extension office in Allison.  
 
The course will run for approximately two and a half hours. Sessions for January and February are full but space in morning or afternoon is still available for March 11th and April 8th. Participants are required to register before and no walk-ins are allowed. The registration fee is due at the door. Due to COVID-19 restrictions face masks are required.  To register please contact Butler County Extension office at 319-267-2707.
 
Butler County Extension will also be offering a virtual P-CIC training on January 20, 2021 at 9 a.m.  Registration is required. Other virtual sessions may be added. Viewing of the private pesticide training on Blu-ray will be available at a later date. Please call extension office at 319-267-2707 for more details. 
 
The course will fulfill 2020 recertification requirements for private pesticide applicators Topics to be covered include recognition of sensitive areas, including groundwater and other non-target sites and organisms (pollinators) as potentially impacted by pesticide applications, pesticide labels, pests, pest management, and pesticides.
