Countywide voting at Butler County Fairgrounds June 2

PUBLISHER'S NOTE: Polls will be open on June 2 for in-person voting at the Butler County Fairgrounds from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. In the May 13 Eclipse, it was erroneously reported that the polls would close at 9 a.m. The Eclipse staff apologizes for the error.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to minimize the number of poll workers and voters potentially exposed, voters in Butler County are encouraged by the Iowa Secretary of State and Butler County Auditor’s office to vote with an Absentee Ballot. If voters choose to vote in person, there will be one centrally-located polling place for the June 2 primary at 101 S. Main St., the Floral Hall, Butler County Fairgrounds. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

To vote absentee, send an Absentee Ballot Request form to Lizbeth Williams, Butler County Auditor, P.O. Box 325, Allison, IA 50602 by May 22. Absentee Ballot Request forms are available at sos.iowa.gov or butlercoiowa.org. If you do not have access to a computer, please call the Auditor’s Office at 319-267-2670. Your return ballot must be postmarked by June 1 or delivered to the Butler County Courthouse drop box by 9 p.m., June 2.
