D-NH wrestlers Starbuck, Leohr win NICL titles

DENVER – Tony Norton thought some of the Dike-New Hartford wrestlers showed swagger on Saturday.

Now, the D-NH head coach hopes some of that can get passed around the wrestling room.

The Wolverines finished fifth as a team at the North Iowa Cedar League wrestling tournament at the Cyclone Center in Denver, led by NICL champions Zach Starbuck at 220 pounds and Jacob Leohr at 285 pounds.

Starbuck and Leohr work together in the wrestling room.

"We've been partners almost every day," Starbuck said. "We mess around a lot, have a lot of inside jokes. … Getting done with my match and then getting to watch 'Bob' wrestle is one of my favorite things."
