PARKERSBURG – The Parkersburg Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to celebrating Easter with a drive/walk-thru Easter celebration this Saturday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in downtown Parkersburg.

The event, sponsored by the Chamber and Campbell-Mellema Insurance and Realty, will center around the main downtown block on Third Street, including a chance to wave to the Easter Bunny at the Santa House next to 204 3rd Street in Parkersburg.

Chamber volunteers will be distributing goodie bags and books there, and there will also be prize drawings available for one of several Easter egg baskets sponsored by local businesses: Campbell-Mellema, Dumont Telephone, Everts Construction, Iowa State Bank, Schuck Realty, Friends of the Library, A-P Appliance, Heating & Cooling, Mane Station Salon & Spa, Parker Place, Taylor Physical Therapy, AP Fertilizer, Lawler & Swanson, Schuck Realty, Truax Insurance, and the Eclipse News-Review.

For those looking for a good story, the Kothe Memorial Library is putting on a “story stroll” by putting enlarged pages of a picture book in the windows of area businesses, allowing walkers to enjoy a fun Easter story as they move down the sidewalk.

The Parkersburg Chamber encourages visitors to bring a donation for the A-P Food Pantry.

The Chamber hopes to bring back the egg hunt next year - last year’s egg hunt was canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
