Eric L. Deberg

Eric L. Deberg, a master Diesel mechanic and devoted outdoorsman, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025 at the age of 66. Born in Ames, Iowa, Eric built a reputation across the country for his deep knowledge of big engine mechanics. From his early days at Caterpillar to founding his own shop, he was known for his thorough, fair and honest work. Repairing and building engines for 18-wheelers that kept America moving. His hands carried the grit of hard work and his mind held the precision of a true craftsman. Outside the shop, Eric found joy in the mountains and trails. He loved to ski, backpack and ride his bike. Always chasing the quiet truth of nature and movement. These passions reflected the man that he was … grounded, adventurous and quietly determined. He is survived by his wife, Sue; parents, Randall and Evelyn; siblings, Kyle (Nola) and Trina (Ashley); daughters, Hannah (Dan) and Vera; and grandchildren, Ada and Milo and Nellie.
