Floyd Miller

Floyd Joe Miller, age 80, of Aplington, Iowa, was born the son of Joe and Kathryn (Schoneman) Miller, on June 17, 1940, in Aplington. Floyd attended Aplington High School.
On June 16, 1984, Floyd was united in marriage with Tamara Jane Kelsey at his mother’s home. The couple lived in or around Aplington all of their married life. Floyd worked in construction, operating heavy equipment.
Floyd enjoyed doing anything outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, camping and canoeing. He also liked to collect items from auctions. Floyd’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, Floyd died at his home in Aplington. He is preceded in death by one son, Thomas Miller and his parents, Joe and Kathryn Miller; one brother, Norman Miller and one sister, Jean Fox
Floyd is survived by a daughter, Jodie Jordan of Marshalltown; two stepchildren, Kelly (Jeff) Kramer of Cedar Falls, Iowa and April (Wes) Peters of Parkersburg; 10 grandchildren, Faron Rodriguez, Jacob Devin and Jace Jordan, Brandon (Kelsey) Peters, Tyler (Olivia) Peters, Blayne Kramer, Kelsey Kramer, Lauryn (fiancé, Robbie D’Amato), Aleeya Peters; eight great-grandchildren, Sophia Rodriguez, Rayleigh and Julian Jordan, Cecilia and Wade Peters, Jaxsen, Oaklynn and Graysen Peters; and one brother, Jim (Evelyn) Miller of Osage, Iowa, and one sister, Connie Buus of Missouri.
According to Floyd’s wishes, he is being cremated. No services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Redman Funeral & Cremation Services in Aplington is in charge of arrangements.
