Liam Allan Eiklenborg, 19

Liam Allan Eiklenborg, age 19, of Stout, Iowa, was born the son of Brad Allan and Sarah Joy (Aswegen) Eiklenborg, on February 8, 2006, in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from Dike-New Hartford High School in 2024. Liam was employed at Eiklenborg Cattle.
Liam was a member of the Reformed Church of Stout. He enjoyed fishing, playing video games and card games with his family. Liam loved children, and he especially loved his brothers. Liam’s dog, Cosmo, held a special place in Liam’s heart.
Liam died on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa. Liam was preceded in death by a stillborn brother, Grayson Eiklenborg; and his grandfathers, Kenneth Eiklenborg and Steve Shoemaker.
Liam is survived by his parents, Brad and Sarah Eiklenborg of Stout, three brothers, Kelton, Max and Trey Eiklenborg; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Myra Aswegen of Parkersburg; paternal grandmothers, Jean Eiklenborg of Stout and Linda Meyer of New Hartford; his aunts and uncles, Anne (Brian) Varney of Stout, Beth (Ryan) Petersen of Dike, Todd (Melia) Eiklenborg of Stout, Kent (Laura) Eiklenborg of Cedar Falls, Reed (Traci) Aswegen of Parkersburg and Ross Aswegen of Coralville; his cousins, Gus, Lucy & Ruby Varney, Drew, Mallory & Bryn Petersen, Deacon (Chloe), & Brewer Eiklenborg, Mackenzie, Si (Elli), Gabe (Kortney) Eiklenborg & Olivia (Jake) Schuman and Missy, Lexi & Britnie Aswegen.
Liam’s funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Reformed Church of Stout in Stout. Pastor Dawson Ackerman officiated the service. The organist was Elaine Schnell and she accompanied the congregation as they sang “Blessed Assurance”. Special music, “When I Get Where I’m Going” sung by Brad Paisley, “Lead Me Home” sung by Jamey Johnson and “Go Rest High On That Mountain” sung by Vince Gill was played. The burial was held at Stout Cemetery in Stout with Si Eiklenborg, Gabe Eiklenborg, Jake Schuman, Gus Varney, Deacon Eiklenborg and Brewer Eiklenborg serving as Casketbearers. The Honorary Casketbearers were Mackenzie Eiklenborg, Olivia Schuman, Lucy Varney, Ruby Varney, Drew Petersen, Mallory Petersen, Bryn Petersen, Missy Aswegen, Lexi Aswegen, Britnie Aswegen, Elli Eiklenborg. Kortney Eiklenborg and Chloe Eiklenborg. Renise Aswegen and Bev Grell served as the Flower Committee.
Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, at the Reformed Church of Stout and one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.redmanfuneral.com
