The New Hartford United Methodist Church hosted an Easter bag handout on Saturday, April 11.

The event took the place of the traditional Easter Egg Hunt in New Hartford, which was canceled due to social distancing guidelines as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Parents drove up with their children for a curbside pick-up of an Easter bag filled with snacks, candy, coloring books, crafts and more. Two hundred bags were distributed to local children by masked and gloved volunteers that included friends of the United Methodist Church, Pastor Chan Kim and the New Hartford Volunteer Fire Department.

After the Easter bags were distributed, the New Hartford firemen hosted a wave parade through the town with the fire trucks and appearances from Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunnny and Duck.
