The Parkersburg Chamber of Commerce and Aplington Community Club are combining to sponsor a vehicle parade through Aplington and Parkersburg beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.

The groups hope that this event will be a fun way to spend a Saturday night after the many cancellations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Businesses, organizations, churches, queens and their courts, Citizens of the Year and Little Misses and Misters of both towns are encouraged to decorate a car, pickup, or trailer however they wish, though it is requested that no candy be thrown out and that all parade vehicles are licensed motorized vehicles that can get from Aplington to Parkersburg.

The parade will:

Start in Aplington on 13th and Gray Street and follow the east/west streets;

Proceed along Highway 57 to Parkersburg, regrouping at the Vets Building in Parkersburg and continuing through Parkersburg.

The Parkersburg Chamber of Commerce and Aplington Community Club urge parade-goers and those enjoying the parade from their yards or their neighbors' yards to stay safe.
