Two injured in collision north of Parkersburg

Two people were injured after a collision just before noon on Thursday, Oct. 15 between a vehicle and a grain wagon traveling northbound on Highway 14 north of Parkersburg.

Christopher Michael Luhring, 42, Parkersburg, was traveling northbound on Highway 14 in a 2006 Ford F-250 truck pulling a small grain wagon when David Michael Evans, 38, Parkersburg, also traveling northbound in a 2005 GMC Sierra truck, crashed into the back of the grain wagon, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Both drivers reported minor injuries. Luhring was transported by Parkersburg EMS to Covenant Hospital in Waterloo and Evans was transported by Parkersburg EMS to Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Both vehicles sustained an estimated $5,000 each in damage. The Butler County Sheriff's Office and Parkersburg Fire and Emergency Services provided assistance at the scene.
