TrinityRail Maintenance Services breaks ground at Logistics Park
TrinityRail Maintenance Services (TRMS) officially broke ground for their new railcar maintenance and services facility at Logistics Park in Butler County on the afternoon of July 23.
“The facility here in Shell Rock will be the first of its kind, and it will be the premier facility in North America,” said TRMS President Neil West. “These 230 acres behind me will have more than 250 employees, over eight miles of rail track and over 350,000 square feet of facilities designed from the ground up with state-of-the-art equipment and process.”
Trinity Industries’ planned capital investment is approximately $60 million, and the facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2020.
“We want to create careers for people, not just jobs. We are long-term in nature. We want to stay in Iowa for a very long time,” said TRMS President Neil West. “We’re build-ing what we think is the big-gest and best and most premier facility for rail car maintenance in the country, and so it’s kind of the crown jewel for us; we’re very proud of it.”
