Parkersburg Council accepts Bellows’ resignation

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg City Council accepted the resignation of Councilman Jim Bellows during a special meeting Wednesday at City Hall.
Bellows was involved in a physical altercation following the Jan. 6 Council meeting. He was arrested and charged with interference with official acts and assault in connection with the incident. The charges have yet to be adjudicated by courts.
In other business, the Council heard updates on both the budget process and the process of hiring a police officer.
