Charles “Chuck” William Krusey, 74

Charles “Chuck” William Krusey, age 74, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the son of Roland William and Clara Alvina (Kampman) Krusey, on June 26, 1951, in Freeport, Illinois. In 1969, Chuck graduated from Foreston High School and went on to attend Rockford Junior College. He also attended one year at Northwestern College for business.
On August 25, 1973, Chuck was united in marriage with Jolene Beverly Spree at the Hope Reformed Church in Parkersburg. Throughout their marriage, the couple lived at the same location. Chuck worked at Altofer, then M.H. Equipment, from which he retired in July 2017.
Chuck was an active member at the Hope Reformed Church in Parkersburg. Throughout the years, Chuck served as elder, deacon, Sunday School teacher and RCYF youth leader. He also organized the JOY group and was a member of the choir. Chuck was a member of the AP Booster Club for over 30 years and was president for more than 20 years. He coached little league and started a T-ball program. Chuck enjoyed golfing in a league and mowing lawns. His greatest joys were traveling and spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Chuck died on Monday, January 19, 2026, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Clara Krusey.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jolene Krusey of Parkersburg; three children, Jamie (Brad) Meester of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Candace (Brett) Kleespies of Parkersburg, and Shawn (Tessa) Krusey of Parkersburg; eleven grandchildren, Lily, Emma, Chloe, Sophia, Aubree & Adalynn Meester, Jaxson & Paisley Kleespies, and Carter, Ivy & Saylor Krusey; three brothers, Ron (Eileen) Krusey of Ackley, Iowa, Justin (Cathy) Krusey of German Valley, Illinois and Dave (Pat) Krusey of Freeport, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Hope Reformed Church in Parkersburg, with Pastor Nate Huisman officiating. The organist was Cathy Myers and she accompanied the congregation as they sang “It Is Well With My Soul” and “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”. The AP Select Mixed Ensemble sang “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art” and Marcy Johnson sang “Legacy”. The burial was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg with Mark Gebauer, Aaron Thomas, Jason Berkey, Jeff Jacobson, Neil Brungard, Rod Spree, Tom Manifold and Jaxson Kleespies serving as Casketbearers. Honorary Casketbearers were Don Poppens, Dennis Schipper, Lily Meester, Emma Meester, Chloe Meester, Sophia Meester, Aubree Meester, Adalynn Meester, Paisley Kleespies, Carter Krusey, Ivy Krusey and Saylor Krusey.
A visitation was held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, at the Hope Reformed Church. Memorials may be directed to the AP Booster Club or Hope Reformed Church. Online condolences may be left at www.redmanfuneral.com
