Miss Aplington will be crowned during Aplington Days on Monday, June 6.
Candidates are listed in alphabetical order by last name.
Cadence Bertram
Parents: Jess & Nate Bertram
Sponsor: John Kannegeiter, John’s Auto
Activities: Volleyball, soccer (best offensive player of the year), dance, play, large group speech, volunteer club, National Honor Society.
Hobbies/special interests: Volleyball, soccer, baking and art.
Future plans: Attend University of Iowa to earn a bachelor's degree and become a labor/delivery nurse.
Hannah Buttjer
Parents: Matt & Angela Buttjer
Sponsor: Heartland Windows
Activities: Bullseye/3D archery, girls soccer, fall musical, large group speech, individual speech, spring play, choir, National Honor Society, honor roll, student government, prom steering, FFA and 4-H Officer teams.
Hobbies/special interests: Hunting, reading, creating art, hiking, raising cows and sheep for Butler County Fair. Also church youth group and helping on grandparents’ farm.
Future plans: Currently undecided but would like to stay in-state.
Isabella Lester

Future plans: Go to Hawkeye Community College for two years and then transfer to Iowa State to get veterinary degree.
Kennedy Lind

Hobbies/special interests: Hanging out with friends/family, tubing, donating items to people in need, helping teach CPR classes, mentoring others, biking, standing up for others, volunteering at Butler County Fair, riding Opa’s mules
Future plans: Attend college, major in psychology and play sports in college.
Tayler Renken
Parents: Kayleigh Thorne and Travis & Michelle Renken

Activities: Large group speech, school play, volunteer club, wrestling manager
Hobbies/special interests: Horses, horseback riding, any type of art, spending time with friends and family. Volunteer with food pantry, fundraising money, cleaning after sporting events and helping at Kyhlwood Training barn with horse chores, helping students with horses and assist in riding lessons.
Future plans: Attending Ellsworth Community College to attain associates’ degree in equine management and plan to work with horses after college.
Alivia Scarbrough
Parents: Kody and Michele Kramer

Activities: Track and field, cross country, National Honor Society, choir, volunteer club, drama, large group speech
Hobbies/special interests: Working, working out, reading, spending time with friends and family. Currently employed at Maple Manor as a CNA and dietary aide.
Future plans: Attend Ellsworth Community College to become a registered nurse, further education undecided.
