PARKERSBURG – The annual Parkersburg Days festival strives to provide “Down on the Farm” fun this weekend in downtown Parkersburg.

“It’s always a great event to bring the community together,” said Parkersburg Chamber of Commerce Vice President Tasha Kramer. “And it sheds light on our great downtown area.”

The events begin on Friday evening with the Kiddie Parade at 6 p.m., followed by the coronation of Little Mr. and Miss Parkersburg and Miss Parkersburg at 6:30 p.m.; Maddogs will host a bags tournament beginning at 7 p.m. followed by a performance from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. featuring Berinobis Connection.

Saturday will have lots of action beginning at 9 a.m. with the parade lineup in the A-P High School parking lot for the 10 a.m. parade. A tractor pull at 302 Northside Road will follow at 11 a.m. as a new rural-themed attraction.

The Parkersburg Lions Duck Race will be at 2 p.m. at Croell’s. Depot Park will have a petting zoo provided by Barn Stahl from 2-5 p.m., as well as FFA Olympics beginning at 4 p.m. Family Bingo will be offered from 3-4 p.m. at the Parkersburg Civic Center, presented by Parker Place.

At 7 p.m. on Saturday, a 5K color glow run will take off from the A-P High School parking lot. As night falls, Maddog’s will once again host live music provided by Mike & The Mashers.

The Parkersburg Historical Home will also open its doors for tours between 12-3 p.m. on Saturday and 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, with Miss Parkersburg in attendance to show off what Kramer called “a gem in this community” in the Historical Home.

Food vendors will line 3rd Street on Friday and Saturday in addition to extended hours for 3rd Street Grill. Vendors include Nacho Daddy’s, Woody’s BBQ, the Swim Team and A-P Cheer. Nancy Kannegieter will also be serving food by the tractor pull on Saturday.
