Avenue of Flags Committee seeks volunteers

The Avenue of Flags display that lines Parkersburg every Memorial Day and Fourth of July Weekend will run as scheduled this year, but help is needed for set up.

The Avenue of Flags Committee asks helpers to meet at the Vets Building, 110 Colfax Street, on May 21 at 6 p.m. for setup.

Parkersburg's Avenue of Flags started in 1982, with the large flags assembled a few days before Memorial Day and The Fourth of July, and volunteer help is often requested to help put up and bring down the flags.

The Avenue of Flags Committee expressed its gratitude for those that have helped with the event in years' past.
