COVID-19 cases are creeping up in Butler County as the Public Health Department still struggles to get people vaccinated.

While the county is still hosting boost clinics to give people their second dose of Moderna vaccine, due to plummeting interest the next prime clinic has been pushed to June 4.

As of Monday, May 10, approximately 12,000 doses of vaccine have been administered to Butler County residents, with 5,440 completing their two-dose vaccine series and an additional 310 receiving a one-dose vaccine. This brings the total number of vaccinated residents to 5,750.

A total of 1,646 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the county, increasing the county total in the last week by 11 cases, continuing a rise in new cases in the area.

In Butler County, 7,288 individuals have been tested at some point during the pandemic, with a total of 29,961 tests performed on Butler County residents overall. In the last 14 days, 4.4% of total tests have been positive for the virus.
