Colin J. Groeneveld, 35

Colin J. Groeneveld was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on August 11, 1988, and raised in Parkersburg.  Colin left this earth on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the age of 35 at his home in Des Moines. A small memorial service will be held for the family at a later date. With honor, Adams Celebration of Life is serving the family.

Colin attended Hawkeye Community College and graduated from the University of Iowa with a double major in Finance and Economics.  He had his own business, Concrete Results, and poured concrete and laid flooring for several other companies.

Colin is survived by his mother Sheila Meserschmidt and husband Mark, father, Ivan Groeneveld and wife Veronica; daughter Ella Marie Groeneveld with Cassi Johnson; daughter Braylee Hrabik with Amber Hrabik; sister, Jillian Combs and husband Jared, John Kramer and wife Jacie; Sheena Bahls and husband Chris; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Colin was preceded in death by both his paternal grandparents, Henry and Lila Groeneveld, maternal grandparents, Donnie and Phyllis Maifield and step grandparent Charles Gronberg.

In lieu of flowers and memorial gifts, the family will be donating all memorials to a treatments center in Iowa in honor of Colin.
