D-NH softball blanks A-P

DIKE – Dike-New Hartford held Aplington-Parkersburg to four total hits in an NICL East doubleheader sweep in Dike on Memorial Day.

The Wolverines won the first game 12-0 in three innings and won Game 2 11-0 in five innings.

Abby Sohn struck out four with one walk and one hit allowed in three innings in the opener. Misty Harreld knocked in two runs for the Wolverines and Payton Nolan, Madisen Theel and Ella Costello all had single RBIs.

A-P’s Emalee Price had the only hit off Sohn.

In the night game, Madisen Theel shut out the Falcons in a three-hit shutout over five innings with five strikeouts and zero walks.

Taylor Kvale slapped three hits with two RBI, Payton Nolan was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI and Alli Steffen collected two hits, including a triple, with two RBI. Abby Sohn added two RBI and a double.

MaKenna Brouwer, Bailee Alberts and Kendall Riherd scratched the hits for A-P in the nightcap.
