Julie Ellen Johnson, 64
Julie Ellen Johnson, age 64, of Yellville, Arkansas, was born the daughter of Harvey L. and Eleanor F. (Ascher) Peters on April 16, 1959, in Waterloo, Iowa. Julie graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1977. After high school, Julie attended Upper Iowa University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.
On November 8. 1980, Julie was united in marriage with Wesley Wayne Johnson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, then to Lacey, Washington, before building their dream home in the Ozark Mountains near Yellvillle, Arkansas. Julie was employed at State Farm as a claim representative and retired in 2014.
Julie enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers and watching the hummingbirds at their feeders. She loved reading Steven King novels, creating a variety types of crafts, and fishing with her family.
On Saturday, June 17, 2023, Julie died at her home in Yellville, Arkansas. Julie is preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Wayne; a stillborn daughter, Sara Marie; her parents, Harvey and Eleanor Peters; a sister, Nancy Meinders, her father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Steve and Dennis Johnson; and a nephew, D.J. Johnson.
Julie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Wes of Yellville; her sister, Peg (Jim) Doeden of Ankeny, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Robert Meinders of Cedar Falls. Iowa and three nephews, Eric (Jennifer) Meinders of Cedar Falls, Ryan (Jennifer) Amble of Clear Lake, Iowa, Daniel (Jamie) Amble of, Pleasant Hill Iowa; and one niece, Danielle (Danny) Sheldon of Hazelton, Iowa.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Redman Funeral & Cremation Services, Parkersburg Funeral Home. Burial will follow the visitation at 4:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery in Aplington, Iowa.
