Meyer hired as Eclipse news writer
PARKERSBURG – Jenny Meyer worked her first day as Eclipse News-Review news writer on Monday, Dec. 19.
Meyer brings a creative eye to the Eclipse from her days running Forever Now Photography on the west edge of Parkersburg, part of a wealth of photography experience which carries over today to her in-house photography business that ties in with her motivational/empowerment blog “Meet Jenny Marie”
Jenny, a Hudson alum who graduated from Hawkeye Community College with a degree in commercial art, is a mother to two Aplington-Parkersburg students, Kolbe, 18, and Kendyl, 15.
She is likely most known within the community for her photo collage in the aftermath of the 2008 EF-5 tornado that she sold to raise funds to help rebuild Miracle Park.
“The community was huge in helping me get the word out,” Meyer said.
She said joining the Eclipse staff as editor affords her another opportunity to connect with the community in the same way she had connected as a Parkersburg Chamber member years ago, and apply creative methods that she’s already using behind the lens and in front of the keyboard to inform the community in a new way.
Meyer will provide assistance primarily to the Eclipse, but may also provide editorial content for Mid-America Publishing sister papers in the Clarksville Star/Butler County Tribune-Journal and The Grundy Register.
Story tips for editorial staff can be sent to news@parkersburgeclipse.com, called in to 319-346-1461 or offered in-person at the Eclipse’s office at 503 Coates Street in Parkersburg.
