With almost all of the event canceled due to COVID-related concerns, New Hartford still celebrated its annual pumpkin festival by giving away pumpkins on Saturday afternoon in a drive-thru style.

Parents were invited to drive past City Hall starting at 1 p.m. to receive pumpkins for their students from 5th grade and under. The pumpkins were given away until the stock was depleted.

In previous years, the pumpkin festival has hosted craft shows, games and face painting for kids, magic shows, musical acts, scavenger hunts and more. It was hoped that some events from Beaver Creek Days would be moved to the Pumpkin Festival, but organizers instead opted to only continue the pumpkin giveaway.
