A-P girls rally downs J-Hawks

Aplington-Parkersburg girls basketball came back from a halftime deficit to knock off Jesup in a road victory on Friday.

The Falcons improved to 5-0 on the season. Earlier in the week, they entered the 2A rankings at No. 13, following a 57-37 win against Waterloo Columbus on Tuesday.

Kendall Riherd led the Falcons with 17 points and added six rebounds and three steals against Jesup. Ellen Waller scored 14 points and Kennedy Lind grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds with eight blocked shots. Quinnlyn Schultz had a triple-nickel with five points, five rebounds and five assists.

Riherd recorded a double-double against Columbus with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Waller chipped in 13 points with three steals and Adison Williamson had 11 points with four steals. Lind added seven rebounds and six blocked Sailor shots.

A-P is at Union on Tuesday and at Hudson on Friday.
